ADRIAN STEVENSEN, Chief Executive 

Adrian Stevensen has worked in the private health care sector in senior development, marketing and executive management roles for 25 years and has extensive experience in the development and operation of private hospitals. A list of some of the many private hospitals and other health care facilities he and his team have been responsible for is given in our Case Studies page. 
 
Having started in hospital development at BUPA at a time of major hospital growth, he subsequently became Chief Executive of the BES-backed Independent British Hospitals plc where he developed 10 hospitals before founding the venture capital backed Independent Care group of companies. Independent Care developed four hospitals in Macclesfield, Cheshire; Chichester, Haywards Heath, Sussex and Ipswich, Suffolk which were subsequently successfully sold in the late 1990’s. 
 
Adrian co-founded General Medical Clinics plc in 1998. GMC is one of the fastest growing corporate health care providers in the UK and its revenues; under Adrian’s principal responsibility as Managing and Sales Director grew from £0.4 to over £5M when he left in 2005. GMC ‘s shares are now quoted on PLUS. 
 
Adrian led the MBI team in a private equity backed venture to acquire Classic Hospitals from BUPA in the summer of 2005. Classic Hospitals acquired their tenth hospital in Liverpool in summer 2006. Adrian left Classics in spring 2007 and then formed IC. Adrian is well respected in the industry and has extensive networks in both the private and NHS sectors. 
 
Between 2007 and 2014 Adrian ran Independent Care as a successful Management consultancy firm, working in both the NHS and the private sector. Adrian's work involved advising NHS Trusts and private healthcare operators on how to maximise the efficiency and profitability of their operations. 
 
In 2014 Adrian secured >£80 million of investment from Octopus Healthcare (a London-based venture capitalist fund) to found One Healthcare Partners. The investment was for an initial 2 private hospitals as part of a strategic alliance with Bupa and AXAPPP to stimulate change in the private hospital landscape in the UK. Bringing the well-proven ambulatory surgery and diagnostic centres model of care from the USA and Australia into the UK mixed economy of healthcare. 
 
As Chief Executive, Adrian will have particular responsibility for securing acquisition targets and developing new hospitals.

Research and Strategic Business Development 
 
Liz is responsible for marketing research, market planning and supports strategic business development. She has worked at a senior level throughout the independent and public healthcare sectors for over 30 years. Having spent 13 years with General Healthcare Group, Liz was also Marketing Director for their Partnership Division – private hospitals and facilities across the UK developed and run together with the NHS. 
She has an extensive network of contacts in the private and NHS sector to assist in assessing the viability of each venture and building confidence within the Consultant Medical staff.
